Introduction: Welcome to My Blog

April 21st, 2006 · 1 Comment · About This Site

This blog hopes to cover the following topics:
- the user experience of prediction / decision markets
- the user experience of trading platforms
- arbitrage in non-cash prediction markets (I have no idea what this will bring forth)
- information design
- executive dashboards
- the odd book review

I plan to post about once a week. In general, I myself have so many blogs to read that I appreciate people who publish weekly, or even less. There’s nothing quite so disheartening as realizing that you have new posts on over 20 blogs to read. It used to be the newspaper was enough.

In addition, I have some markets that I’ve started on CrowdIQ, and I will probably spend some time talking about my experience managing those markets.

I hope the readers who come to this site will stay for more.

Hey, Alex, welcome to blogland! It’s pretty addictive, lemme tell you. My advice is to not get too serious and too feel free to post more off the cuff. That’s the hurdle I’m trying to get over now — making shorter, more spontaneous (but still well-crafted) posts instead of sweating over them for hours and hours every time.

Anyway, I look forward to monitoring your thoughts. (hm, that sounds a little creepy, doesn’t it?)
