If you like wine, and happen to be passing by a book store, stop in and read the first seven pages of Super Crunchers. It tells the fascinating tale of Orley Ashenfelter (and his newsletter/website Liquid Assets), who discovered a better way of forecasting the price of great (and not so great) wines. Lots o’ fun.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend buying the book. It appears to make the same point, just at a higher altitude (and perhaps attitude), of a number of other recent books, such as Money Ball, Freakonomics, and so on.
And thanks to Nigel for the tip.
As always, thanks for listening.
